 Digital X-Rays
X-Rays are an integral part of the diagnostic process. Without dental X-Rays, being able to see what is inbetween the teeth, under and around present fillings, bone patterns/health, etc would simply not be possible. Digital X-Rays are just another technological advancement in providing this 'visual diagnostic' image. Digitized X-Rays are similar in that the X-Ray image is converted to digital which can then be viewed on a computer screen as well as easily and quickly sent to a referral office if need be. All X-Rays in our office are digital - Panoramic, Bite-Wing and Periapicals. Digital X-Rays also use much less radiation than conventional dental X-Rays (which use significantly less radiation than medical X-Rays anyway).
Duplicate records can now be easily recorded and sent to speciality offices upon referral by way of the internet, web sites and on discs/electronic media as well as being readily viewed chairside by the patient for an explanation and better understanding of what all an X-ray shows and the benefits of enhanced diagnositic ability.
